Honda Rebel 250 Powerband

I've searched a couple of forums, this one included and cannot find a thread that lists the 234cc Rebel's Powerband range in RPMs.

There is a thread on this forum whereby a user speculates what they believe the Powerband range is but speculation is not very specific and thus, I would like to ask those in the know, exactly what is the Rebel's "Powerband" in RPMs?

Kinda depends on what you mean by "power band". Peak H.P. is over 8000 RPM's

Thats hard to define on a Rebel because its designed to have a smooth powerband and be easy to ride. There are no surprises or comming up on the cam when you nail it. Just smooth power(?). With an engine so small the trans. plays a large part in what speed the engine is producing enough power to not be lugging. I think the only way to find out would be to run it on a dyno. In 5th gear 40 mph is the slowest I will go and if I need to speed up I drop a gear.Thats a little over 4,000 rpm. In the lower gears you can run at a lower rpm and the engine will pull it because of the gearing. Sorry I can't answer your question but my guess would be 4,000 to 6,500 rpm.

I think the actual advertised power band is 5500 - 9000 rpm. the peak 18 hp is developed at 8200 rpm.

I would think that a good thing to know if you had a tacho would be peak torque. That is the point at which its pulling all it can pull. You can go higher in rpms and pull faster but you can't pull any more than that. It would be nice to be geared to be at that rpm when you hit a hill, that way you know gearing down won't move you any faster and its doing all it can do.

I was refering to my normal riding when I said 4,000-6,500. Thats a nice flat torque curve. Fast enough not to lug and slow enough for long engine life.
