Probably the most important info on this thread! I'm single and can attest, it's hard trying to impress a women when you smell like "territory"!

Yeah, but I bet you don't get much competition from tomcats.

Something I learned from experience; Cats, squirrels and other critters will not be stopped by mear straps. If they can get their heads in a space they will get their whole body in. And anywhere is't cozy and protective they want. Best deterant is something that offends them and one of the best offenses is a spray made from ground whole habanero peppers sprayed around the ground where you park. Dogs, Cats, Skunk, everything tends to stear clear of that stuff. (If you make it yourself, where gloves and don't get anywhere that 'offends' you...)
BTW, humans can't really smell it, so those of the opposite persuasion will not find it repugnant.

Kevin:
I want to try that. But it's not perfectly clear to me. When you say spay I think of a can/aerosol/spray, something you buy already in a can. When you say ground habaneros, I think of going to the local mexican mini-mart geting a pound or two, throwing them in the blender, and vaccum pack them in a bag for easy application. Btw I already carry nitrile gloves among the rebel tools. Have you tried this deterrent?

Blend 1 lb. fresh habaneros in 2 cups water. (fresh is a lot stronger than dried/ground). Strain through coffee filter into a pump sprayer.
I use it to keep wild rabbits, ground hogs, skunks out of my veggy garden by spraying around the perimeter.
Suggestion, rather than spraying on ground around parking area, spray on inside of the cover opening and let it dry. That way the weather won't wash it away and it will last longer.

You're right Guba, but the "aroma issue" happened in the morning on the way to work, so the only "impressed" people was my boss & co-workers. I don't know if they could smell it, but I sure did.

Well, I bought a Nelson-Rigg in medium directly from the manufacturer. No sales tax and free shipping. I'll post some pics when it arrives.

Drifted from "finding a god cover for the rebel" to "make your cover critter prove"
Eric: Tell us how did it work for you, fit, quality, heat resistant, etc. do you have the website where you can buy it directly?
