Carb Hose routing

Hello All,

puting my 86'CMX450C back together today and I have ran into a little snag. The Honda Service manual does not totally jive with my Carb hose routing. So I thought I would tap into the guru knowledge data base of you all here.

so far as I can tell the fuel tank has 3 lines coming off the tank including the pet cock there is two vacuum and one fuel delivery line on the petcock and one line off the right hand side of tank.

then there is the carbon canister one line to the PVC, one to fuel tank and the other to open air as a vent. The PVC has one line to the two Carbs via a Tee inline it lands at the top of the left and right carb at the outlet (cylinder head side)

at this point is where I have the snag the left Carb has three points plus drain ,one on top that goes to PVC via a tee right above outlet (cyclinder head side) and, one on the out board side to vent Aka air vent tube. one on in board to vacuum port for vacuum piston that goes to a tee (not sure where to land this line and the drain goes out the bottom to back of case to drain fuel if need be to flush float bowl.

Then the hose routing on the right hand Carb throws me H.S.M. shows one thing but not on my carb. four ports ,one on top of outlet (cylinder head side) to PVC via a tee ,one to air vent out broad side and the other also out board side looks to go to vacuum port for vacuum to PVC and then the drain.

so I guess my problem would lay in this area..two ports on cylinder head, where to connect ?

3 ports on fuel tank 2 at pet cock, I know right hand line goes to carbon canister. carbon canister goes to pvc,pvc goes to top via tee of both carbs. lower line of right carb goes to pvc vacuum port. I think one port off of cylinder heaD goes to the vacuum ports for vacuum pistons.

the other line not sure so that leaves me with one port from cylinder head an 2 ports from petcock

Sorry about the long winded post but wanted to get it all in and right as much as I can recall from disasembly...

I'd have to look at my '86 450, but it's over at my place.

The only lines from the gas tank on mine are from the petcock itself......the fuel line going to the carbs & one small diameter hose that attaches to the small port behind the left cylinder.

From a port behind the right cylinder, there's a larger diameter hose heading to the carb area.......sorry about the scant reply, but only going from memory here without being able to see it.

O.K........I eyeballed the hoses today & here's what it looks like....

From petcock:
Fuel line going to carbs.
Small diameter hose from back of petcock to small port behind left cylinder.

From valve cover:
Large diameter hose that runs from larger port on valve cover, then goes over & behind the carbs, then down behind 'em, apparently to the cannister.

From behind right cylinder:
Another smaller diameter hose (similar to the one behind the petcock) that runs to the T (T is situated slightly above & just in front of the right side carb). Two additional hoses from the T run one each to the small ports on the right sides of either carb.
