Can you tell the year of the bike by the decal?
Hey i was wondering can you tell the year of the bike by the decal on the tank? Cause when i got my bike i thought it was an 04 but now i had just seen a pic of an 06 and it looks like the same decal...

I have the same decal. You should be able to tell the year by looking at the VIN number stamped on the steering head frame.

The model year is printed on the left side of the neck sticker. Turn the handlebars far right to see it. Sometimes the same decals are used for more than one year.

Honda tends to utilize a tank sticker for years at a time with two color variations (lighter color for darker paint and darker color for lighter paint) on all their models, they went through four different Shadow logos on the VLX from 1988-2007 (and some of those were shared with the 750 Shadows along the way). IIRC there's three different Rebel logos since the bike returned in 96, along with a fourth for their 80s bikes.

turn the handle bars to the right and you should see the year of manufacture on the sticker on the neck.

That flame style sticker was used from 04' thru 08".
