Side Covers
Hello, all.. I am new to this.. I just baught a 2002 rebel 250. the guy before me droped the bike so it needs a little care to it.. which i plan on doing my self.. I was looking at yalls bikes and noticed that a few have crom side covers.. can you please tell me where i can get them at.. I have the red.. but rather have crome.. also can control extentions be put on this bike or do they have to be custom made..
Thanks,
ringcj77

The chromed side covers are for the 1st generation rebels. They caught my eye also. Your year rebel is second generation. I don't know if the old covers will mount readily to the new bikes or not. As for forward controls, there's a couple of bikes on this forum that have them. They had to buy controls for other bikes and modify. Not much stuff out there for rebel customization unless you make it yourself.

info from another site:
"if you have a newer rebel 250 (96 - 09), the chrome covers from the older ones (85 - 87) are not direct replacements. the battery holders are different sizes, too. so you will have to change that out as well. the screw thread for the chrome cover on the older frame is not on the newer."
