anyone seen same side exhaust?
Hey Guys, I have a 85 cmx250 and I am not the biggest fan of the way the exhaust looks. I was wondering if anyone has seen a single side exhaust setup? or am I better getting some pipe and going to town with a bender

There is an aftermarket exhaust that sends both pipes down the right side. I think Jardine makes it. i think Mac makes one or made one as well.
I'm sure others can aswer better. I've always liked the stock exhaust and the balanced look of a pipe on each side. To each their own.

its funny.. now that I compare them side by side, I think I liked the idea of single side exhaust more than I do the way it looks.. Thanks guys! I think with what I'm doing with my rebel, the dual side might look best.
thanks again

I will add that I installed an additional baffle today to help with the extreme decel popping. It was so bad it sounded like Jake Brakes (brake retarders on a semi-). Since I wasn;t going to drill the exhaust I welded a 1/2" washer (happens to be 1 3/8" that fit the internal baffle perfectly. This gave me some back pressure and I noticed a significant decrease in noise level and better accelleration.

cagie,
Did you add power cones or something similar or did you use some 2 stroke exhaust fiber wrap? I am just asking because I have been thinking of the Jardines setup but am definitely not a fan of the low back pressure popping sounds.

No, as I said above, I used a large washer tacked into the pipe. There is a 1/2" hole that provides enough back pressure. No packing was added.
After my 120 mile run today I was pleased with the results. The decel popping has diminished quite a bit and the decibel level has also drastically reduced. Still has a deep throaty quality but not ear-splitting.

Did tack welding discolor or damage the exterior finish of the pipes at all?

welds did not come in contact with exterior chrome at all. The lollipop was welded inside the baffle... I'll get a picture in a while.
