How did you know that I have a problem with my key? I know where it is, just can't get my hand on it sometimes. When I park anywhere except in my garage I put the key in my left front pocket along with some change and my pocket knife. I suppose people wonder why I'm standing beside my bike with my hand digging around in my pocket! Still ridin and got a lot farther to go. Irv

I'm 51 and haven't riden a bike since I was fourteen. As for midlife toys, the Rebel seems to be a cheap way to go. One could spend much, much more on RVs or boats.

I'm 50, have been riding since age 5, have over 400,000 street miles, closing in on half a million, and have never dropped a streetbike. And I have done some hardcore sportbike riding, just short of roadracing, which I did try once, on a Ninja 500, but didn't like it. Pretty much everybody I rode on the track with had been down, and seemed to accept it as part of the sport. I have an aversion to crashing, especially on asphalt. I'm glad to hear there are guys out there older than me who have never dropped a bike either. Proof that dropping a bike is NOT inevitable. Jerry.

Kudos to you Jerry. You're not as old as I am but you do have about twice as many miles logged as I do! Irv

Age
Anyone beat 82? I didn't read all of the replies.
Have only been riding about three years, but enjoying every
minute of it. First bike was a 1982 Yamaha XJ650. Just purchased a 2003 Honda Rebel 250. Gonna love that
little devil (come spring).

Sailorgil, I am VERY impressed ... and if I have your constitution I therefore have at least 22 years of riding my Rebel. Hitting 60 last year has me thinking things like "Oh, people on the forum say the Rebel can last many 10's of thousands of miles ... it'll outlive me!" ... to thinking MAYBE I'll outlast the Rebel. Do I read it right, that you first started riding when you were 79? FANTASTIC!
