318 curves in 11 miles!! We "Slayed the Dragon" about 2 years ago, I can't wait to go back; one of the most beautiful rides we have ever taken. I was a passenger when we went, next time I plan to take my own bike. I don't think a rebel would have any trouble, some parts are steep, but like flitecontrol said speed limits are enforced to keep everyone safe. The landslide has been cleaned up and it is open again, a riding group from Columbia, SC just got back from there.

For any length of road with numerous curves, twists, switchbacks, hills, dips, and rises I can't think of a more pleasureable bike to tackle it with than a 250.

One of these days I hope to ride it. I didn't know the speed limit was only 30. I picked up a brochure on it at the bike show this year. It's loaded with places to spend money at, all of it targeting MC riders.

You can ride the dragon on anything, from a Goldwing to a moped. There are a group of moped riders (mopedriders.org) that ride it every year, and I mean on actual 50cc pedal mopeds. I would like to do it on my Kawasaki EX500, but unfortunately it's 3000 miles away. Jerry.
