Leaving forum

Unfortunately (for me), I will be leaving the forum. It appears that I am not the right type for this forum. This is a great forum, IMO the best Rebel forum on the net, and I will miss it. I intend to keep my Rebel, and continue riding and working on it, and may drop by to read the forum once in a while, but will no longer be posting. Best wishes to all the members, moderators, and administrators. Sincerely, Jerry.

I'm new to this forum and I look forward to reading posts from you. I don't know much (especially mechanically) about bikes and have just started back riding after a long time. If you've offended someone, I think they will get over it. Sometimes I believe this world is just a bit too sensitive these days. I say stick around and help us newbies out!

I think it would be a great loss to this forum if you stopped posting here, Jerry. Take a little time off, if you feel the need. But don't just leave.

Jim

I'm going to miss your posts, Jerry. I have learned quite a bit from you. You have a lot to offer for new and older riders. Please reconsider and stick with us.
Your friend, Charlie

One of the (if not THE) best posters ...

Jerry:

I've no idea what happened to lead you to this, BUT PLEASE DON'T LEAVE! Your posts are invariably super-informative, never trivial, and to point. Your posts are one of the main reasons I visit the forum ...

Family

To me this forum is like a large family. And as you would expect with such a large family there can be some excitement around the dinner table sometimes. But it is still a family and everyone is welcome no matter their personal opinions, everyone is accepted. Sometimes we need a break from our "family" but don't think that because you need a break that you are not welcome. We will still be here and hopefully we will see you back here soon for "Thanksgiving dinner", or what ever holiday our family gets together.

You might have a 'rough edge' in the way you express yourself but you certainly don't belong in any negative category. Maybe I missed a 'problem' you've had here but I've never seen you cause one. I've learned some Rebel things from your posts, but have mostly gained from your non-brand specific general knowledge.

How about just a hiatus?

I would hate see you go, Jerry. You have strong opinions, which I admire, even if I don't always agree. I have never found anything you have posted to be offensive in any way.

You are a wealth of knowledge and, in many ways, a guru. If you leave, you will be missed.

Jerry: You just can't do that to us, when I say us I mean guys/gals with less experience wrenching and riding, I'm sure even the more experienced ones around here would miss your posts. I don't know if this is due to "friction" with another member or something, it doesn't matter, what matters is that we need you to share your knowledge and expereinces with us. Please give it some thought, try not to quit us. If at the end you decide this forum is not for you, I respect that; but let me tell you, your opinion would be missed.
