Alright, I know all of you who responded to this thread got the same PM from Jerry that I got. I realize that his is only one side of the story, but I would like to hear the other side. I thought it interesting before that no mods or admins have chimed in here, and I find it doubly interesting now.

Jerry was never asked to leave, he chose to do this on his own. He was never banned, and is still a member. I don't know what he's been saying in his PM, but there are two sides to every story. As a moderator privy to just a little information, I choose to keep this between the Jerry and the mods. I'm really not trying to be an ogre here. But based on what I know, Jerry is over reacting.

I haven't gotten the PM yet, but this is my first response to this thread. The only side of the story I'm familiar with is based on reading practically every post on this board for a year or two. Having been active in numerous boards over some years, I wouldn't expect to see mods or admins chime in on such a topic. In their respective capacities, it would would be inappropriate for them to do so. This is a forum; not a personal blog. They have to remain impartial.

Jerry your like my Rebel's Godfather! Thanks for all of the shared knowledge. I've learned a lot of good info from your posts, and it's pretty apparent that a lot of others have too. I don't know anything about the drama, but time heals all wounds. Take a break man, and hopefully we'll hear from you soon.

I do accept that as a possibility, and I'll admit I smell a little bit of a "take my ball and go home" thing going on here. In his PM to me, Jerry did not claim that he was banned or asked to leave.

This incident begs the more general question: what, exactly, constitutes "appropriate" posts? This would be useful information to all of us. I searched for, and was unable to find, a Terms of Use. If one exists, would someone please point me to it? If one does not exist, how are any of us to know when we are posting something inappropriate (short of the common sense concepts of profanity, hate speech, etc.)

Janet is currently in the process of drafting rules. Everyone will see them here in the near future. The previous owner didn't really have a set to follow. But as everyone here is pretty good on behavior, there hasn't been much of an issue.

X2 In my time on this forum and as a moderator, there have been very few posts when something was deemed inappropriate. In those instances, the poster was contacted by PM and asked not to repeat the infraction. In every case I am aware of, that resolved the issue and it never came up again. The members of this forum are a truly exceptional group.

I don't know what was said to Jerry if anything. I know he fees bad. But here is my thoughts. There are always thin skined people in this world. I think the world would be pretty boring if we all thought and acted the same. I always speak my mind I don't try to offend others but maybe we all do at times? I don't like to be snoty, but if someone is snoty to me yeah I will get snoty back. Its called defensive behavior we are all guilty of that. I guess I just want to say to everyone don't get affended by someone because they think differently. end of subject we all make our choces. Can we all agree to diagree? And maybe this is a lesson to all of us? Some people are different then ourselves thats ok. You might not be my best friend but hey don't get offened so easily. Let it go! I am saying this to all of us and don't mean it at Jerry alone, respect other persons. There I feel better now. The end!
