Personally I don't think it really matters where you hang it as long as it is low enough for the gremlins to hear it and be bothered enough to fall off.

A terrible thing has happened. The bell that Flitecontrol sent me over a year ago broke off some time when I didn't even notice. That must have been one serious gremlin! I would have been in some deep doo-doo had that bell not been there to take the hit. My boss gave me another bell a couple weeks after I installed that one, and I put it in a drawer or something for backup. Now I am bellless, and not at all comfortable about it. If there's any bright side to this, it's that I'll end up cleaning the house looking for the other one.

You only had one bell on? In my opinion, you can't have enough bells! My bike has three on right now. My goal is to sound like a jingle bell sleigh.

May I suggest that you offer to exchange bells with someone here? This is a popular source: Guardian motorcycle bell FREE SHIPPING

are people still doing this? I have bells that I got off santa's sleigh when I would go visit him when I was younger. I have 16 of them [My brother wanted to throw his away, so I scooped his up]

Santa hasn't has a fatal accident in over 200 years! So I would say that they are pretty effective. They aren't nice by any means [cheap thin metal coated in brass], but they have sentimental value and thats some powerful juju.

anyone want one?
