Bill Hines, Custom Car Legend

Was kicking back watching re-runs on TV. First checked out the Biker Build-Off with the Detroit Bros. vs. Russell Mitchell. It was Mitchell's trike & the Detroit Bros. "Revenge" chop (SWEET chop!)

Then it was Monstrosity Garage, an installment I'd seen before with the Old School car customizers, EXCELLENT episode.

At least 10-11 yrs. ago, I was gassing up at a station in the Phoenix area & saw this BEAUTIFUL Cadillac at the pump, owner wasn't around. Walked over to admire & check it out when I see this older guy walking over & I thought to myself "No way". Well, it was "Yes way" & the guy turned out to be Bill "the Lead Slinger" Hines! Thing is, I didn't even know who he was at the time & had recognized him the first time I'd seen this program on TV.

He was just as you've seen him, down to earth, modest, casual. When I asked him if it was his car, he replied "I built it". Apparently, he'd just finished it for a customer & had driven it to Phoenix to deliver it in person. Dang, had been chatting with a legend & didn't even know it

I believe his signature is the dual antennas with all the body mods done using lead. And he does some nice frenched head lights. I think I saw that episode of monster garage. The old chevy? (tequiela sunrise)

That's the one, cTc Pretty sure it was a 1954 & that car received some modifications from some of the best in the business.
