Thanks Jerry! Ill probably be pulling the engine out of it this weekend and start prepping the frame for paint. I still have to make my control mounts and get them welded on there before I can do that though. Tank should be here sometime tomorrow and I want to lay that up there too and see how that looks. Geez, maybe I wont be yanking the motor this weekend as Im sitting here thinking of the need to do list!

man... I just sit here and read this thread and get bummed out... I wish I had means to obtain those skills and the resources to do a custom build. It also gives me more determination to figure out ways to get there, great inspiration! Thanks!

Like cagie, I don't have your skills, but I really like what you've done. I just wish I had cagie's extensive knowledge of motorcycle mechanics, artistry, and inventiveness!
Seems we all have areas where we excell.

Yeah, I just said the same thing in another post. Not everybody can do everything. I can't build a motorcycle from the frame up either, and I never will be able to. But I'm not going to let that get me down, there are a lot of other things I can do, and enjoy doing. And it sure is fun to watch someone else build a bike. The real way, not on some ritzy tv show. Jerry.

You over estimate me my freind. My "extensive knowledge" is more "common sense" than anything. I may pick up a book and actually read it, not just look at the pictures (ok, well there are those books... ). Not that I follow all the destructions either. I also listen closely to what others opinions are regarding a certain topic and get as much knowledge as I can, then take risks that I think are worth taking.
Like I said before, If I had the means, I would take a lot more risks. IMO, that's the only way to truely progress.
I appreciate the artistry and inventiveness comments though. I have found that creativity is the keystone to many discoveries.

I'm sure you know folks who suffer from a lack of common sense. Having it is nothing to sneeze at.
I've learned most from my mistakes! Many were expensive, in one way or another.

I can appreciate the deepness of this thought.....I learned from my dad, if it doesn't seem right, feel right, it aint right. I also learned from others. I learned from their mistakes, its less painful, and better them, than you. (AKA, school of hard knocks)
