Hello all! My name is Ian. I am a 34 yr old dad/husband/all-around-good-guy, who just bought his first Rebel! Believe it or not, I used to drive (and still own) an 2000 Honda Elite 80 to and from work. This will be such a boost over my old ride! I bought this 2006 Honda Rebel for $2500 (has 1650 miles on it). It is the Pearl White edition, as you can see. Do you think I got a good deal? Will the Rebel get near the MPG that my scooter gets (which is around 85 mpg)? What has been your top speed on your Rebel? Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts!

That white looks good on there. All the older Rebels, and a lot of the newer ones, are dark colored, and I don't necessarily have a problem with that. But it sure makes the lighter-colored ones stand out! (I painted mine yellow, used to be black) I would like to see what others on here get for fuel economy as well. My daughter rides mine, for the most part, and it seems like it gets killer gas mileage. If we ride 105 miles, she'll put a gallon and a half in the Reb. I'll put 3+ gallons in the Magna. I thought mine was doing pretty good at 35 mpg, She laughs at me!

I put 165 miles on mine and never touched the reserve. It held 1.9 gallons when I filled it back up.

Hey txsizzler, welcome to the party...You planning on doing any mods to the reb or keeping it stocked?

Hello Rick... for now, I will keep it stock. I was thinking of adding saddle bags to it, not sure though of how it will look. Also, I was thinking of modding the shifter, so that you can use your heel to downshift, or go into first gear. Any other thoughts?

I weigh 300 lbs and with me riding the Rebel, pretty much full throttle from every stop light, (cause rebels are slow) I average 65-70 mpg. You'll like it.
Going down hill, with the wind at my back, i've managed 86mph.
No wind, flat land, it struggles hard to do 64-67mph between Midland and Odessa.
But like I said, I weigh 300lbs.
About getting 35mpg, that's about what my kawasaki gets in town, i'm not complaining.
That's good mileage compared to my best mileaged car which weighs in at about 20 city 28 hwy at 80mph. The F150 in town gets 13 if lucky. I'm not complaining about 35 in town. especially when I leave the gas station I do a wheelie. :-)

Hello fellow Texan! I am in Wichita Falls... about 300 miles from you. I weigh in about 190 lbs, so maybe my top speed will be a bit higher (haven't tried maxing the speed yet.. still trying to get used to the bike as I am a noob). I am hoping to get around 75mpg. I also have an Honda Elite 80, which gets about 90mpg. Anyhow, if you ever make it up this way, give me a holler!
