View Full Version : 4" Risers update with pics
I have just added a set of 4" Dog Bone Risers to my rebel chop project. They look really nice. I will post pics when I can get my digicam to cooperate.
Here are some pics of the risers installed. Sorry for the bad pics, time for a new digicam.

Great pics! They look terrific. What was the total cost of the risers? Does the year of the bike matter when doing mods like this? I've heard most Rebels are very similar.
These will set you back a whole $20.00. actually a buck or so less. and the year dosent matter, these are for 7/8" bars which all rebels have. I like them, but it will be a while before I get the bike on the road, so I dont know how they ride at this point.

I like the drags on the dog bones... looks cool, but I'm assuming the stock controls are temporary until you figure out what you want to do with the bars, right? They look kinda silly on the drags.
Cheers,
Wade
actually I will likely keep the stock controls on this one. The end result of my chopped rebel is to be a bike that I can return to a stock rebel in a short time frame. The extended rear section that is being fab'd is going to bolt on to the existing frame, as with most other mods I plan to make. This will allow the bike to go to a fro from mild to wild. With that I plan to keep the stock controls. I have an Idea for a rebel chop that I hope to go with one day. Maybe if I can come up with another rebel, I will go with that idea also.

Hope you plan on posting pics of the modified rear section. You say it's going to bolt on to the frame,..which part of the frame, and how accessible is that? Coincidentally, I too am trying to mod my bike to go from mild to wild as well, and any time saving tips you can pass along would be great. Have you come up with a way to change your bars from stock to drag in a short period of time? I sure haven't...
If I remove my passenger seat, there's on obvious void...what suggestions do you have for passenger seat removal, and making the fender look less,...well....goofy?
using the risers you can switch back and forth from stock to drag bars fairly easy, the rear section is a stretch swingarm with fram braces to meet the original shock mount point and the strut mount point. Once I get it finished, I plan to try and sell a couple of them. It would be a goo bolt on hard tail. I will slide the fender and seat back, then cut the fender to sit as I want, and if I dont like it, I will use a suprise rear fender that I really want to go with.
I will be posting pics as I get things done.
