Hello all,
Just bought a 1986 Rebel 450. I have rode this bike several times and liked the way it handled. It was a family bike belonging to my little brother. whom unfortunately let the bike slip into disrepair. But no worries not that bad needs tires and a tune up, insulators for the carbs{they're cracked} oil change along with a chain and it will be like new again. Bike starts right up. and moves thru all gears no problems.

It has been like twenty years since I last owned a bike and truely planned on riding one as a daily commuter.

Welcome aboard, jwarren!

You've got yourself one helluva good bike right there! It doesn't sound like it needs all that much & once it's up to snuff, that puppy will cruise along with most others without working up a sweat. It's versatile in that it's great for city riding & when you kick it into that 6th gear, she'll settle down for some serious long-range cruising.....

Welcome jwarren!! As GJ said....you have an awesome bike!!! I may be a little biased (see my signature). What color is it? Mine is the Monte Rosa Silver, but planning on a custom paint job soon.

She won't take much to get running, mine sat for 14yrs. You will enjoy it, especially around town. She likes the open road also, and the twistys are a breeze!!! Light, nimble and full of pep!!!!

Search the forum...there are plenty of answers on here and a great bunch of wrenchheads to help with any questions!!
