hi guys iv been haveing problems with my spokes snapping, so after trying to repair it myself and making it totally worse i asked at a shop they wanted £45 just to replace the spoke.

anyway i found a wheel for £40 on ebay so i bought it.

the only thing is i dont know how to get the sproket of fmy old wheel to put on my new wheel, i got as far as taking the spikey ring thing of but i need to get the big metal thing off.

any help or advice would be much appreciated

ps its the rear wheel on my 250 rebel

floatfree.........If you haven't gotten a manual for your Reb, please believe me, you'll find it invaluable. A parts manual is also highly recommended as the parts manuals show exploded diagrams of how various components are interconnected.

I just checked out a diagram at www.bikebandit real quick. It looks like the sprocket itself is only held onto the driven flange assembly by 4 sprocket nuts. If what you're referring to as the "big metal thing" is the driven flange assembly, it looks like the driven flange assembly is held in place by the axle.

Not sure if this is the info you need, but maybe others can offer some insight ?

I personally like "Big metal thing"! That's what my wife calls my Ford pickup, and I know that don't hold yer wheel on! As GeeJay says, shop manuals are invaluable. I've been preaching buying those for years, it takes all the guess work out of it.
