Hey......I apologize for posting the 5 pics in a row seperately. Heck, it was all I could do to get this figured out with help from a 16 yr. old, LMAO!

HECK YEAH!!!! 'Bout time dude :D
The scoot looks good man. I dig the highway pegs. Did you make them yourself? What's wrapped around the front forks?
GearJammer
12-18-2006, 10:51 AM
Thanx, HotShott..........hehehe..........those are homemade fork gators, a temporary bandaid for leaking fork seals so's the fork oil doesn't splash on the paint, LMAO! Will get to replacing 'em but not just yet.
The highway pegs are vintage chopper pegs that have the proper angle to clear the pipes perfectly. Bad pic, but they're bolted to the top motor mount bolts on the front.
Just wanted to show how the EMGO's can be mounted using the stock mount for the stock pipes. The downside (and another reason that I want to remove the EMGO's) is that on heavy leans, the EMGO's "will" scrape. Once I loose the EMGO's, the footpeg brackets will be removed as well to clean up the lines & any excess behind the brackets that's welded to the frame rail will get sawsalled off.
Will be clamping the header pipes to the bottom frame rails, rearwards of the crossover pipe.
That'll be it until spring, when I can bob the rear fender to just behind the stock tail light mounting holes, then will be mounting a cat's eye tail light where the stock tail light used to be. (The cat's eye is currently under the fender) Has to be spring so's I can re-do the paint on header pipes, gas tank & rear fender as the shop isn't heated.
Thinking about losing the airbox, but not in any hurry to do that, as it'll require the re-jet.
Edit: Those are 250 Rebel shocks......straight swap-out.

Can't wait to see the mods you have planned. We should schedule some kind of "grand unveiling" for the Board this summer. Set a deadline and have everybody show off their winter/spring projects.
Keep up the good work!

Now that I've figured out how to use a digital camera & how to post pics, will have to figure out how to set up a personal photo gallery thingie (still don't own or intend to own a cell phone & don't know how to use those) ROTFLMAO!
Will post again when the EMGO's are removed & headers only are clamped on.
Not going to give away the details, but I know that Snorey will be unveiling some righteous up-grades on his Reb sometime in the near future
Where are ya at with your project, HotShott ? You're going bobber style, yes ?
HotShott
12-18-2006, 04:50 PM
Bobber, Custom, Rat... call it what you want 'cause right now it's parts :D
Right now I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel (keepin' the little lady happy  ), but I'm gonna get back on it after the New Year. I'm goin' trailer fender w/ a Sparto tailight, solo seat, apes, rattle can paint, etc. Just gettin' it stripped down as much as possible. All the warm weather we've been having here is killing me. I'm sittin' at my desk and all I hear outside are loud a$$ bikes! I can't wait for Spring
I just noticed the Z bars on your bike. Me likey!
GearJammer
12-18-2006, 10:27 PM
Sounds like a great plan here! Sparto's have that classic styling, very sweet along with the rest of your aesthetic ideas. Looking forward to seeing the finished scoot!
Thanx again, the Z's are 7" rise, but they DO touch the tank on one side. Ideally, some risers to clear the tank & then shorter rise Z's would work better.

Great looking pics!!! Now for a sound file of the exhaust!! Guess that will be sometime in the "not so" near future! ROTFLMAO!!!
Seriously, I really like the bars. Might have to "steal" that for my chop!

Thanx, Brother! Z's have always been my favorite, right from the start in 1973......
Have to admit tho', I've given up on even attempting the sound file. Asked the techno-hipsters in the household here (LMAO!) & even they don't have the capability with their gidjits 'n gadjits.....they've fallen behind on the technological advances slightly.......and I've never ventured past the stone-age, LMAO!

Here's a couple with the EMGO's & passenger peg brackets removed. Only had time for a short test-ride. Definitely louder , but "might" have some power loss. Will get a better sense of that when I can get her out on a more open road.......

Quick up-date...........With the open headers in the above pic & after more than 300 miles, did a plug read today. Looks good.....dark tan/light charcoal, no whitish deposits at all.
Please keep in mind that this is with the open headers while retaining the STOCK AIRBOX (so far.....hehehe).
Did lose the mid-range power after removing the EMGO's, but I can live with that for the time being. Eventually, will lose the airbox & install pod filters, which will no doubt require a re-jet to both enrichen it as well as recover the mid-range.
Edit: Almost forgot......the plugs are NGK's DPR7EA 9

Thanx, Ronin......she's still a work in progress. Was just about to sell it, but have decided to keep her & continue with a few more mods.
Removed the goofy rubber from the front forks, have to install the new fork seals. Also wanna put some black exhaust wrap around the headers.........Will also be re-painting, losing the stock airbox & then re-jetting the carbs.
You can't see it in the pics, but there's some temporary O-ring worm-type clamps holding the ends of the headers to the frame rail, one clamp around the frame rail, another threaded thru that clamp & then around the exhaust pipe cross-over pipe....VERY IMPORTANT to clamp those pipes after cuttin' 'em to avoid snapping the exhaust flange stud bolts (a nightmare I encountered with the 250 Reb)
Boy, Gearjammer, In Washington state, front fenders are the law, strictly enforced! Not only that, but without one, you'd have to wear scuba gear in a rainstorm. :x To us, a bike without a fender looks like an unfinished project! Naw, I'm just kidding. :P And, hey, go buy a sixpack, and I'll come over and give ya a hand with those fork seals! Oh...yeah... the whole thousand miles between us thang. Ok, just send the sixpack, and I'll walk ya through it.

Hey Gearjammer that sounds like you are having fun with that nice little bike. Can't wait for the finalized pictures :) Hey my father and law has an old Bridgestone 100, only a couple hundred miles on it.
Very early 70's. Been in a barn for well forever needs a little touch-up but you might of made me interested in fixing it up (project thing). What do you think? I would like your advice.
RIDE LONG, HARD,FAST AND FREE!
BUT MAKE LOVE LIKE IT 'S THE LAST DAY ON EARTH. . .

Ronin........Have definitely heard of Bridgestones, but not immediately familiar with the model you've mentioned. If it's been in the Family for a good number of years & stored the way you said it's been, I'd say "Go for it!" That's a vintage motorcycle, regardless of size, obviously & there's people who LOVE to restore the older vintage bikes. Parts accessibility ? Unknown to me, but you could research it on a search engine such as www.google.com & see what you find. You might be pleasantly surprised
b4v4, We can lift a few brewskis long distance no matter what the occason, LMAO! Yep, I know about getting caught in the rain without a front fender all too well, but none of my bikes sport one. Stubborn traditionalist here
Check this out: Required for Arizona motorcycles......
One fender (front or rear not specified)
One working brake (front or rear not specified)
One mirror (a dental mirror would qualify)
Horn that can be heard from 200 ft. away (bicycle bulb-horn qualifies)...........Gotta love it! Arizona ROCKS!

Just re-read your first mention of the Bridgestone with only a "couple hundred miles on it".......Man, it was never actually broken in! Far out!
Also did a quick search on www.google.com for "Bridgestone motorcycle".........you might wanna check it out, Brother!
*liftin' a cold one*.....Salud!.....*klink*

He bought the Bridgestone for his wife to ride out in the country
but it don't seem that she rode to much at all.
P.S. I checked google out! I guess it is a 69 model I will have to look at that bike again. This bike is turning out to be a cool find!

Agreed.........Was it stored inside all these years ? How's the paint, chrome, etc. look ? It really sounds like a worthy bike to resurrect, either as a very clean runner or as a collectible with the low mileage.
For the heck of it, you could also see what prices that vintage is pulling on eBay....

I have been reading up on the bridgestone! It's pretty interesting
bike. It has been inside all these years and it looked pretty good
besides the tires, (old age). Check out this web page!
www.bridgestonemotorcycle.com
P.S. Checked ebay did not find nothing, Oh! and it is the 100 TMX
series last model they made.
Thanks,
Ronin

Actually checked that link briefly last night & it looks pretty good!
Another thought on eBay is checking the "Completed Listings" to see if there's any auctions that recently ended......I still say go for it!

And another..........also a question for anyone who might know.....
What's the purpose of that brace in front of the front fender ? Is it a grab bar ? Other pics that I found of this model Bridgestone all have the same brace there.....
