Hi there I have come across a very low mile 250 Rebel (3313 Miles)
I have a good Title and a complete bike but no keys and the local Honda shop that they cut a new key without one to copy from, the bike is a 1987 and they have no way of getting key codes that far back.

I do not mind getting a new Ign switch but what about the gas cap fork lock and helment lock

any help by any one

thanks

Welcome aboard, mopar1947.....

You've got yourself one of the "Classic" Rebels ('85, '86. '87) & very low mileage to boot! Congrats!

Sadly enough, the dealerships ain't what they used to be. One possible option.......instead of springing for a new ignition switch, which would still leave you with the problem of a key for the gas cap, fork lock & helmet lock, you might take the ignition switch to a good locksmith & have them cut ya a key for it. This shouldn't be any problem for an experienced locksmith & then you'd be good to go all the way around.....

I second that suggestion. I have had that done for cars before, and though it will cost substantially more than a new key would normally run (maybe $25-$50), it's way cheaper and easier than replacing all the locks. And of course, if you do it, get a couple extras made. Good luck and have fun with it.
