View Full Version : Interchangeability between 250 and 450?
I read that there's a lot of difference between the two. But could anybody tell me if the 450 seat will fit on the 250? If not, how much work to make it fit? :?

There's not much interchangeability of parts between the 250 & 450. Even the tail-light lenses, which are essentially the same size, have different spacing of the lens mounting screw holes for the tail-light housings. I see these lenses advertised on eBay regularly as "will fit both the 250 & 450" & that simply isn't accurate.
On the seats, the lengths, widths & mounting bracket spacings would be different. I guess there "might" be a possibility of drilling new holes in the rear fender to try to adapt the 450 seat to the 250, but my main concern would be the contour of the bottom of the seat pan & mounting bracket itself, as to whether or not it would fit flush or not on frame/rear fender (my guess would be probably not)
If you're asking this in the hopes of gaining the thicker cushion of the 450 seat or because the original 250 seat is in need of re-upholstering, it might be a better option to simply have additional padding installed on the 250 seat & then have it re-upholstered.
