View Full Version : Any hunters on here?
Checking in to see how many hunters we have on the board. The hunting seasons are fast approaching here in GA. And I am trying to get ready. Just bought a new bow from bass pro shops, the Diamond Justice by bowtech. Switching my PSE to a back up bow. Still to early to get the duck hunting gear ready. But as fast as time is passing, it wont be long.

I have a pse also. I reaaalllyyy like the pearson. Feels like it was made just for me but they forgot to make the price just for me also. I hunt a little bit mostly bow and muzzleloader. I used to target shoot whe I was in hs and was pretty good. Won a couple of local tournaments.
I decided to buy the justice over the new mathews switchback xt, the diamond weighs only 3lbs, 6oz. and the mathews weight is about the same as a VW beetle.
I've done a few tourney shoots, but mostly just 3d targets with gang at one of a couple locations. I have 2 friends one is sponsored by mathews and the other by PSE, dont ever get into a shooting match with either, they'll rack you arrow every time

There's some decent hunting up this way, but its tough to find land to go on. When people find out that you own a gun and/or you're looking for somewhere to hunt, good luck. There's not much public-access land either. Things up here are a lot different than they were in the Carolinas. Many towns have restrictions on hunting with firearms, and I don't plan on giving up my guns for a muzzleloader or a bow so I can hunt here.
There is plenty of public land here with little to no game on it. And trying to find land to hunt on is almost impossible because of out of state morons paying way to much $$$ per acre and leasing it all up. The DNR is talking about raising the out of state hunting license by nearly $100 so I hope they do, they will in turn use the new moneys to improve the public hunting lands by actualy putting together a managment plan. That would do us some good.
I have more guns than most, and not a single black powder, the state did legalize scopes on black powder this season, so I might consider one. And I also think legalizing crossbows was a insult to the rest of us archery hunters. Now any one can hunt in archery season, just give them a cross bow, no skill needed there. Its taken me alon time to group three arrows in 1", its constant practice even when its so hot outside you just want to quit, but any turd can pull the trigger on a crossbow, so the woods get crowded in archery season now also.
