Ok, so the question is going to REALLY point me out as a newbie. I'm familiar to forums but with cars. I help and get helped. I recently bought a 2000 Rebel and while under there, to change the oil, noticed these non-connected hoses. The two on the upper part of the picture are exactly the same size and open on the ends. They are the size of car vacuum hoses. The 3rd one looks sealed flat on the end but that flat end actually opens if you squeeze it so it's not sealed. The last one is actually transparent and has a plug on the end that is held there with a little clamp. It's the only one whose end is not opened. I just wanted to make sure they are supposed to be there as outlets for extra water, gas or whatever. I want to make sure one or more of them didn't become disconnected from where they are supposed to be plugged into. Also, can you explain what each one is for? I imagine the two thin ones serve the same purpose but for each exhaust, maybe. I'm not sure and don't know squat about bikes. .................................................. .................................................. ... Hey! I was about to attach the picture but this forum doesn't have that option. I don't have a host to put them on. Crap! I didn't want to go through that now. Can someone post it for me if I send you the file?

I believe they are vent lines from your explanation. E-mail is in my profile. If you want send me the file, I use Photobucket for posting pictures.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the one that is plugged needs to be drained every once in a while. I did and some old fuel and oil dropped out. If you fill the tank to the very top (like I did several times) it will fill and eventually cause poor running. I left the plug out as per several recommendations. I also do not fill the tank above the neck in the tank any more.

I have no idea what they're for, but they're supposed to be there. I wondered the same thing when I got my bike, and then noticed it on other bikes as well...
