i've been fond of the rebel for some time. however, the suzuki gz250 has a larger front tire, and a bigger gas tank. however, it only has one piston. the rebel has two...question----> what are the safety features regarding 2 pistons..if one seizes, would nothing happen bc the other is still moving? also, how desireable is a larger front wheel in terms of pot holes, obstructions, and also cornering...thank you very much...

I have never ridden a Suzuki GZ250, so have no first hand experience. But I would say that your concerns are not a significant problem. Others may have a more informed opinion, but I have never heard anyone say that there was an advantage having two cylinders vs. one. Both engines are considered extremely reliable so there is probably no reason to prefer one to the other unless you are interested in measurable performance. Not sure whether there is a significant difference in hp or torque. As far as size of the front wheel, again I doubt that this is going to make a very noticeable difference. The Rebel is known for being a very light, nimble, responsive ride. You should sit on both bikes (it would be great if you could take them both for a test ride, but that may not be possible) and see how they feel to you.
