I just recieved an email from the "other" forum saying it is back up. Said there was a lot of information lost but a lot was recovered.
I think I will just stay right where I am. :D
Thanks for the support. With time this place will grow in more than just a forum for questions etc. I have some changes lined up that will make the site one of a kind.
I like this site and the other one also. Noticed one particular soapbox got removed from it ...?
Both cTc and DJ are very knowledgable in their own way and work hard to provide us useful information. They are both #1 in my book... I mostly like to lurk and learn. I won't be abandoning this board either...

Been around going on 2 years now. Wanted to offer people a place of decency where you could ask for help without being bashed and called "stupid" in some eyes. To bad it took until now for the right thing to happen.
We'll be here, and will be making a things better as we go. Thanks for stopping by.
Looks like I now have two forums.
I like the idea of a forum where I'm comfortable asking questions. This has been a great site in the few days I've been here. As stated by others there is a ton of useful info on both sites. I'll probably continue to visit both.
I do like that the other forum has a specific spot (Rebels without a Causeway) for us newbies. Sometimes I'm a little reluctant to post in the same arena with the experienced guys. I know there is no stupid question but I also like having a spot where it's okay to post my newbie questions, concerns, and dumb stuff. Just the title of the spot lets other know we're new. Does that make sense?
Good idea, I'll have you something directly.
How about a "Newbie Lounge" where question from others who share you feelings can post away without fear of being in the wrong spot.

RE: the 'newbie lounge'.
Given how it was requested, and how you described it, do you think it would be useful to encourage the non-newbies to steer clear of the 'lounge', or to keep their input to a minimum?
I'd never thought of it that way, but maybe it would be nice to have a place to go for starter riders, where we geezers kept our traps shut.

Re: the Newbie Lounge
I hope no offense was taken - I do appreciate the advice from the experienced ones. Most of the time that's why I'm here - to gain the knowledge and the experience that only comes from the "geezers". Yet other times, I just feel really stupid and awkward and it would be nice to have a place where I could put pen to computer screen and know that its okay cause anyone reading in that spot is for sure we are new and liable to sound dumb.

I also think it is a great idea. It can be a spot for the "newbies" to post questions and get answers from anyone. I think the "geezers" should respond with answers when appropriate. Not a spot for the "geezers" to stay away from, just a spot for the "newbies" to feel comfortable with.
That about says it, the newbie lounge will let the more experienced ones know that they are in a area where noob'ish questions will be asked. And those experienced riders who havent forgotten where they came from will offer the advice for those looking to learn. I think it will be a great place for learning.

Very well said, cTc! Patience is the key. Advice without patience serves no one well. Those entering the Motorcycling Community are the future & deserving of respect to make the Journey as comfortable as possible......

I'm glad Rebel250 is back up, but I like it here too. Looks like two homes for me too. A good topic is a good topic - don't be afraid to post it on both forums. You can't have too much information.
BTW, did anyone else notice that "Someones" posts seem to be missing over there?
I feel more comfortable here so this will be my "home" but I will check the other forum.

I think a lot of us have noticed

Great idea guys and gals.
I'm pretty sure we all have Newbie questions every once in a while. I have a brain dump at least once a month :P . Besides we're all new at something.
I always tried to treat the Causeway with a little more respect. The search for knowledge has always been special to me. Hearing about goals met and steps taken gives me a little lift for the day. :)

Someone asked about that over there. Dj told them that MR is no longer a member of the forum and will be missed by many.
Or few, depending on how you look at it. Theres room for more two b.s. free forums. I think it was to little to late for some though.
Also thanks for the PM's of support from everyone, This will always be a easy to get along with forum for all users, from the new riders to the vets.
Thanks
Im glad that the other site is up too. Besides, without that site, I would have never found this one. (well, maybe not right away at least). Regretfully, they had to loose someone who had alot of knowledge because of the attitude. Now I think someone like myself will feel more comfortable to ask a simple question, without getting the "search the site, stupid" answer. I will be visiting both sites, and trying to learn about my 450. (still working on it)

In all honesty, there is no resource lost that any of us don't have access to. Google will yield a surprising amount of information, and we all have it within us to be just an knowledgable as the next person. It's how we choose to share that knowledge with others that is the key...
