My hubby had stated several times that I couldn't learn to ride a motorcycle cause I can't drive a stick shift car. Then to add insult to injury he would send me e:mails telling me "It was a beautiful ride in to work on the bike this morning!". Well one morning something just snapped. He had a weekend long fishing planned in a couple of weeks so I called around and found an opening in a MSF class for that weekend. I got my permit that Friday morning and attended class that weekend. What a wonderful feeling when I passed the class and was able to come home on Sunday and present him with my permit, class certification and the card that would get me my endorsement. It was worth it to see his face  LOL

I took the class on 5-19 to 5-21, got my 04 Rebel on 6-3 and have been having a blast learning to ride it!

My kids were totally blown away too but as my middle daughter stated "What took you so long Mom?"

So that's my story as to how I started my life as a motorcycle DRIVER not just a passenger.

That is too cool!! I admire what you did. You were especially wise to take the MSF first, before getting a bike.
What color is your Rebel?
A N D - wear your gear!!!

Take good care,

Very cool indeed, my wife decided one day, I would like to learn to ride and at the time all I had in her size in the garage was a ninja 250, the other bikes we just to big, so out to the yard she went and picked it up rather quick. Then we got her the rebel and she rode it 2 1/2 years before we sold it this march and got her a v-star 650.

Congrats on the MSF and endorsment, and welcome to the site.

MJ.... Now THAT'S what I call an accomplishment!!! Congratulations! :D

Just for the record, I drove nothing but a stick for most of my years of driving. That still didn't make motorcycle riding come easy to me. There's not much of a comparison between the two (in my opinion).

Sounds like you've got a real supportive husband there...

Could you have a talk with my wife ....

I would love for her to get a bike so we could go riding together.

My Rebel is a deep red - love the color. I only had a half helmet and a friend lent me his full face helmet to try. I'm already convinced I want one. We're going helmet shopping this weekend.

Actually my hubby has been extremely supportive once he got over the initial shock. He didn't have to much to say on that Sunday night but on Monday morning he was very vocal. Said he was simply in awe! He really got into helping me select a bike and has already purchased and installed a windshield for me.

He rides a Harley Ultra Classic yet he has swiped my Rebel several times already.

He had a weekend long fishing planned in a couple of weeks so I called around and found an opening in a MSF class for that weekend.
Now that totally beats going to the mall and spending a fortune while the husband is off fishing (what a lot of my friends would have done...)

I took the MSF class in April, along with my son. The Spouse Thingy was ambivalent about motorcycles in general, and a little afraid of us riding (he's a nurse anesthetist and has seen 20-30 accident victims in the OR since spring began...) but once he saw how much fun we were having, he caught the bug and took the class this past weekend. Now we're bike shopping for him!

The family that rides together...well, they have a lot of bugs on their face shields, but they smile alot... ;)
