Hi All,

My back blinker broke off and needs to be fixed. I have a friend that is going to fix it for me, but he is an "American Bike Owner" and is not sure how to fix this...does the tire need to be removed from the back of the bike to get to the wires? I have the new blinker and stem and it's ready to be installed, I just want to be sure it's installed correctly, but don't want to have to pay Honda to do it.

Thanks for any advice you can give - I truly appreciate it.

Jen

Its a simple fix assuming you do go with a new replacement part or at least a complete part (unbroken). You baisically unscrew the old from underneath the fender, no tire removeal needed, unplug two wires and off with the old. Just reverse the step for the new signal and in 30 minutes or less you should be in business. Used, like new signals are easy to find, I'd ebay for them, and I have a set here somewhere from my wifes rebel after I added the mini signals if you dont have any lucj finding some, let me know.

Not quite as easy as cTc makes it sound. The wires are tucked into metal channels. Not hard to remove and replace the wires but it does take a little finesse. Also the wire connectors are tucked into the box behind the license plate. There is a plate on the bottom that is held on with one screw. It's a tight fight for the wires and sometimes the connectors don't want to come apart. All doable, fairly straight forward. It's not hard and is not rocket science. It's not complicated, but things don't just drop into place. I would budget an hour for the job although theoretically it's a five minute job.
