Just came here via a link posted from Rebel250.com (not sure what happened there). New here but not to the Rebel. We ahve two of them out int he garage, a 96 model that the wife is learning on and an 85 that I'm in the process of chopping.
Also got a squadron of VLXes parked with them too. Click my homepage link in the sig to see the bikes.
hey shack, its kind of odd that the site there went down just like that, I quit going there some time back. Just wonder if they will get things worked out or not.
I see you finished the rebel you had been working on, turned out sweet. I'll eventually finish mine, but have to many irons in the fire right to work on it.

Yeah, rebel250.com was kinda strange. I checked it at 5:00 (eastern) before I left work and it was fine, checked it from home at 6:30 and it was gone.

Shack, Wanted to offer you a sincere & respectful welcome....
I see you've been busy already with offerring a LOT of positive & productive input, which is much appreciated & benefits the good of all.
Whether the redirect turns out to be temporary or permanent in nature, your presence & participation here is obviously welcomed regardless.
Ride Safe.....
I think GJ speaks for a number of us.... welcome.

Well I have my theories as to what happened but it's too early to start throwing them out. Like others have said, it could just be a simple thing so we'll see if it's temporary or not. I was wondering what happened to you there. Seems you dropped off, then sold the VLX and dropped off the VLX forum...thought you washed your hands of me did ya LOL
Funny thing, when I was redirected here I went to register and it said the username was already in use/pick another...so I logged in and voila, been a member here for over a year LOL I must have stumbled upon the site and forgot to bookmark it.

Yeah it's getting there, mostly finished is a better term as it isn't rideable yet. But the big stuff is done, and like you I have too many irons in the fire. Hope to have her rideable by summer's end, but a few bike deals like a CB-350 and XS650 ads in the past few weeks have been tempting me to abandon it again LOL
Actually still got the vlx http://www.hondarebelforum.com/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=2 dont know that I could make myself get rid of it LOL, its just to much fun.
How does that rebel ride? I thinking of re-rakeing the frame I have here, but unsure if I will. But man does it look cool.

I can only offer limited feedback on the ride. The carb needs a filter and a cleaning/rebuild/rejet alkong with a new chain on the bike so I haven't ridden it under its own power yet. I did take a ride on the rolling chassis down a nearby hill and had a blast with only the back brake to stop me LOL
 I can relate to that, let me know how it turns out once you get her on the road, I am curious to know.

Glad this forum is still active! Over the past five weeks I've been checking here and rebel.com.... it disappeared today... bummer, a lot of great folks... hope they all find their way here!

Where abouts are you in Oregon? I'm in the PNW, too. Just slightly north of Seattle (Shoreline).
