Just purchased a 2002 Rebel 250 (4,100) this past week. Sold my last bike (Yamaha 275 Enduro) in 1993, haven't been on a bike since... picked up the bike... took one lap around the dealer lot and it felt like I had never stopped riding! I started riding when I was 8 (now 47), my dad bought me a 5hp Montgomery Wards mini-bike, had several bikes thereafter until 1993. This bike fits me well, I'm 5'6" 120lbs. Having a blast this week. Put over 300 miles on in spite of the bad weather.
Just made a passenger backrest... where can I get the extended bolts?

Welcome Bippie!!!
I am glad to see that you are riding again and you made a wise choice in the Rebel. You will be very pleased with it. I own a 450 Rebel (1986) that I bought new. I recently pulled it out of storage. Been there since 92.
I don't know about extended bolts....I would pick some up at the hardware store. I prefer the Stainless Steel Allen head bolts.
If you made your backrest, I am sure you can do alot of customizing to this bike. I found that the Rebels lend themselves very well to customization with a little work and imagination. You can also find alot of aftermarket "goodies" for it.
Again, Welcome to the board! You will find that we are always glad to answer any question and if you have some helpful tips, always feel free to post them. We could always use the knowledge LOL!!

Welcome aboard, Bippie & congrats on your new Rebel! You've already experienced how great these Rebs ride & handle. Enjoy!
In agreement with Snorey on utilizing alternate stores & indie shops as much as possible as opposed to using the dealership. You can usually find the same or better quality items at better prices. The only time I'd do business with a dealership would be if I had no other viable alternative, LOL!

Welcome
where can I get the extended bolts?
Ace Hardware has them (stainless steel), take a bolt with you and match up the threads.
