I am thinking of getting a 250cc Rebel, highway worthey? Could i take it on the highway, and when you get a motorcycle license, is it like an i.d.?

The rebel is plenty of bike for the highway, although the freeway speeds can be a problem above say 70 or 75mph. But the bike will be able to handle it, even when the rump cant.

The M/C "license" is just an endosement on your driving license. You will get a new license after passing with the M/C endosement on them.

It will handle it fine. I too had the same worry from reading posts at alot of different forums. Once I got the bike broken in I took it into downtown chicago. If you've ever seen the traffic there you know it's nasty. The Rebel isn't a street fighter by any stretch of the imagination, but it was more then enough to mix it up with that kind of traffic. Buy the Rebel. It's a good solid motorcycle.

It would be a very good idea to take the local MSF training course before buying a bike. You will learn the basics of riding safely. Statistics show that people who have passed the MSF course have significantly fewer accidents than those who were self taught or taught be a friend. Good luck.
