I bought an '86 rebel 250 limited last November, after not having been on a bike for 20 years. I like it a lot, but I could easily see how another 150 pounds and another 200ccs would be welcome at speeds over 60 mph. So I'm looking around. They're out there, but I have some questions about them. (see my 450 info quest in the q & a forum).

Get this. I just bought (last Friday) a brand new, 2001 out-of-the-box Rebel at my local Honda dealer. He has two more in stock. Got a good deal, I must say. :D

2004 Black Rebel, goes by the name of "Spartacus". Had 121 miles on it when I bought it. Has 2511 miles now and no problems. Have changed the oil and adjusted the valves. Put on a windshield, luggage rack and sissy bar (from Jack's) louder horn and in-line fuel filter, clock and "Tiny Tach". Made a cargo box for it that sure has come in handy. Great bike. :D

2004 Black Rebel. I've added a Mapam sissy bar and luggage rack. Had to adjust levers and rear brake pedal to fit my short legs and arms and I LOVE my Rebel! I bought it in April with 500 miles on it. I'm a brand new rider so haven't added too many miles of my own yet but I'm on my way!

o6 that is almost a year old.

Miss Dottie wanted to carry gear but didn't want bags so we have super sissy bar. There are also some lighting mods. I'll post them later.

05 Orange Rebel. Got almost 14,000 miles on it now. Only thing added was a national cycle flyscreen and a set of willie and max raptor series bags. Makes for a pretty clean look.

I thought this was funny. In November of 2007 I went to the Honda
dealership to buy an 05' Rebel with 8K miles on it for $2,500. They turned
down my loan and told me that they couldn't sell me a used bike. However,
they did approve me for a loan for a new 06' that was sitting in their attic
for $200 more.

I went in for a used bike with 8k miles on it, and walked out with a new one
with less than four miles on the odometer for $3,500 after all taxes and fees.

I have an 85 Rebel 250. My daughter bought this bike in 86 with 100 miles on it. Her boss a casino owner bought for his young little girl friend. She put 100 miles on it in the first week she had it and parked it and never got on it again. After a year her boss mentioned to my daughter that he wanted to sell it. Anyway she bought it from him and rode it off and on untill about seven years ago when she bought a Harley and put the rebel in a shed and forgot about it. Then three years ago she decided to take it out of shed and clean it up and sell it. Long story but I ended up with it. With less than 7000 miles on the clock. Took it to local shop had carb and gas tank cleaned, new sprockets, chain and tires. Good as new and I was in back riding after a many years without being on a bike. I LIKE it.

Right now... none :( But I'm workin' on it. I'm thinking about buying a 1986 250 for 900 bucks. Suppose to be in "mint" condition, but I want to look at it - not that I know anything about engines, but I guess if it looks good and it runs, it's better then the Rebel that I don't have! Then when I sell my Honda Shadow VLX 600, I will be getting a 2009 Rebel. I sure hope they have Orange or Yellow this year! :p

Also, why did Honda quit making the Rebel 450?? That seems like a bike that would bring in tons of $$$ for them. I never did understand why they quit making them...

I just bought a 1985 Rebel, Black. My story is alot like Art's. This bike has been sitting sense 1990 , and started up once about 3 years ago. Owned by the man's Grandpa that passed. she is not in bad looking shape , a little spit and polish and help much. We will be doing the carb, tires and such. All fluids I believe. Gas tank does not look rusted. I hope not. Needs new battery and probably a few other things. I canT wait till DH and friend gets this up running for me. I have a 50 custom cruiser I used to teach myself to ride. it is just to cool. I want more power. Yesterday I had to sell my 750 Shadow Ace so the sadness is big , the Rebel will help me not feel so sad.
