450 Gas Tank Needed!

In search of a gas tank for a 87 450 rebel. A new/used replacement would be great, or a reasonable alternative. What might fit? Any suggestions? :?:

Have also heard that the stock gas tank from one of the Honda 500c models (sorry, not sure which one, hopefully someone else will ?) is a pretty good fit on the 450 Reb.

Another option is finding a gas tank that you like & making it work. Fabbing the necessary brackets to mount it, etc. while ensuring adequate clearance for the handlebars to turn full left & right without hitting/chipping the gas tank.

Edit #2: I'd also keep watching eBay as used 450 gas tanks sometimes show up on there as well. Have you tried Jack's Rebel Warehouse in Florida ? If I can find the link, will post it here...

Go out & find a 1982 CX500 custom (not the standard) gas tank. Than on your old 450 tank remove the front mounts & weld them onto the new tank & than tap a new hold in the frame for the rear bolt & there you have it. The great thing about this mod is that there are plenty of CX500 custom tanks out there for the picking.

You can also try Jack's Rebel Warehouse website, he carrys many used parts for the 250 & 450 reb. If your looking for a new replica tank try Steves Cycle Savage on the web, the last time i checked he had 450 replica tanks.
