Not worrying just yet, but have noticed during the last couple of rides, that sometimes when I shift into 3rd, it'll sometimes miss (oooohhh....I hate when that happens, LMAO!)
Been riding the dogsnot out of this bike & haven't crunched any gears on either upshift or downshift, so I don't suspect any broken shifter forks or broken teeth on 3rd gear.
Only happens on the upshift & not every time by any means. Maybe a worn tooth or teetheses....LOL!....on 3rd gear ? Maybe worn dogs on 3rd gear ?

GJ, i find that after an oil change the shifting gets alot easier. Also check out the adjustment on the clutch, that may also be the problem.

Thanx very much, Brother! Will have to check the maintainence log & see when the last oil change was. That's "one" plus about having kept the speedo/odo, LMAO!
Also noticed that oil changes helped the shifting on the 250 Reb when I still had that one.
Recently checked the oil & it's not burning any at all, which makes me happy :D
I have this habit of keeping my feet on the highway pegs, moving the left foot back 'n forth between rider's peg/shifter & highway peg for each gearshift. Started keeping my foot on the rider's peg during the 1st-4th shifts & it seems to help. Maybe I simply wasn't nailing the shift when it missed ? Not sure, but you're absolutely right about those frequent oil changes/better shifting so again, will check the log.
Thanx again......

Also GJ, i find that i'm able to shift alot better when i'm wearing my boots than when wearing my converse shoes.

Thanx again, Chopper Rick.......
Actually, I don't even own sneakers....hehehe...It's "always" jeans & boots, "never" shorts & sneakers here.
Shorts can expose the flesh to some nasty burns on the hot motor & I prefer boots to cover above the ankle for obvious reasons.
Get this...I actually saw some guy riding a Harley with no socks & flip-flips! I kid you not. He wasn't "upscale", either, but definitely hardcore. *shrug*

I've seen & know guys who ride like that almost all the time & everytime i see them they remind of yuppies. It's dangerous enough to ride a bike & than you add flip-flops & shorts to the equation your really asking for it...can you say, ROAD RASH.
Me, i usually ride with jeans that are cuffed up, boots or converse sneakers & of course plenty of grease in my hair...it's like being back in the 50s.

Oh yes...shorts & flip-flops are a recipe for disaster. It's dangerous enough without getting overly careless.
Sounds like you're part of the "Greasy Culture" scene, Brother (not the website necessarily, but the "culture" itself). My son is pretty much like that, too, tho' with shaved head & full-sleeve tattoos.

You got it Brother, 50s rock'n'roll, bobber bikes, pompadours & a barbershop who still greases the hair with pomade & hair tonics.

It's interesting how things change yet stay the same sometimes. Growing up in the '60's, long hair was the style, as was avoiding barbershops, LMAO! And of course the hippies & Old School bikers of that time were also accused of avoiding showers, ROTFLMAO!!!!
With the common ground of motorcycles, choppers/bobbers...I clearly see the original Old School & the "new" Old School (for lack of a better way to describe it) being able to relate to one another with no problem whatsoever. And it goes beyond just the bikes. There's a lot of common values being shared as well. Pretty cool, actually.......
