Saw a 450 Rebel listed on eBay & under the heading "450 Honda Rebel" it says "AY842065"...does anyone know what that refers to ?

Edit: Not sold, auction was ended early or whatever....

Hey GJ!

The number is not related to the bike per manufacturer. It might be a stock # for the person who is selling it. The VIN # checks out to be a 1986 but it looks like it has the 87 tank on it. At least the decals are an 87. They might have just changed it or replaced the tank.

Thanx, Snorey. Now that you mention it, I hadn't been aware of the different gas tanks on the '86 vs. the '87, but can see where the '87 is more of a Sporty tank style & the '86 has more of a Mustang look.

And this was learned because of a # designating an unknown, LMAO!
