just bought a 99 rebel for my wife . she really likes the bike , but she is unable to shift that well. the shift lever doe not allow her to get her foot under it to up shift , if i adjust it then it is to high for her to down shift. does anyone know if there is a company that makes a heel/toe shifter just for the rebel 250.

I have never read or heard about anyone purchasing a heel/toe shifter for a Rebel. I believe I read on another forum that someone fabricated their own heel/toe shifter, but this was a one time custom job. I do know that you can buy floor boards for the Rebel, but am not sure this would solve the problem.

The person to contact for information about custom parts for Rebels is Jack of Jack's Rebel Catalog. Here is his web site: http://www.rebelcatalog.com/default.htm
His toll free number is 800.240.0393. I have no affiliation with Jack other than buying a part from him once. He is well known among Rebel owners as an expert on Rebels and a wonderful asset to our community of riders.

There is a fellow who made his own heel toe shifter, he said it was very cheap to make, the only time consuming thing was the measuring and welding a couple of pieces. here is a picture

I should have posted this one first.

The simplest way to fix your problem.......

look at the linkage from the shifter to the tranny, you will see it is threaded on both ends, and, there is a nut used as a stop. if you remove the linkage from the tranny spline, you can screw the linkage end in and out to raise or lower the shifter. This is an adjustable feature honda put in place.

you can always go to the heel toe shifter, but this would save you on the cost, if all you need is more shifter height. :)
