hi, jast bought a 2001 rebel, realy happy about it , the owner didnt had manual, please tel me what oil and how often i need to replace

Pro Honda GN4 SAE10W-40 SJ Motorcycle Oil.

I change my oil ever 750 to 1000 miles, some say thats to often, some say not often enough. I think it is a good time frame unless we are doing some hard riding.

I concur with CTC on oil change interval... I usually change about every 1500-2000 km (I'm in Canada so we're metric).

I use Mobil 1 Red Cap... I'm a synthetic guy where possible and it works very well in my Rebel (85 250). Have also heard lots of good things about Amsoil, but it's pretty hard to find round here.

I always use the motorcycle oil, I know it cost more, but I am just picky about those things I guess.
