Was driving around town with the OL & at the red light could hear a Harley in the traffic that had the green. When it came into view, it was an old greybeard on an OLD IronHead Sporty chop, looked to be about a 12" over springer front-end, traditional flamed gas tank, the guy was obviously havin' a good time! :D
Man, that made my day! Driving around in stressful holiday traffic & then seeing this blast from the past.....gotta love it!
I know what you mean, anything to make the holiday shopping experience better.
theres a nice knuckle that pops in and out of town here, never have gotten a chance to talk to the guy. I'd like to have a look at it.

"I know what you mean, anything to make the holiday shopping experience better.".........Can see we're definitely on the same page, LOL! By the time the holiday actually arrives, we're usually too burnt out to enjoy it.
Eventually, you'll probably hook up with the rider that has the Knucklehead. I'm not all that enthused about the modern H-D's, but the old ones get my attention every time & aesthetically, I've always thought that the Knuckle was a beautiful machine.
It's interesting. Have also seen an older Shovel chop locally & the OL mentioned seeing it a couple times. The Sporty looked vintage & cool, the Shovel looks recently re-done & cool (or possibly it's a new build of an old bike) Flat black, jockey shift, sweet as can be! Maybe I take it for granted riding the ol' chopped Trumpet & just enjoying the ride, but whenever I see these other vintage choppers, which are rare, it really is a pleasant feeling.
Sure takes the chill out of winter! LMAO!
a buddy of mine who rebuild clasics has a nice nice shouvel that is original in original condition and he rides it 40 miles one way to work everyday in season.

Very cool! Shovels are the ones with the "classic" Harley sound. Do you know what year it is ? I had a '78 1/2 SuperGlide way back when.
I love it when someone not only owns a classic, but they also RIDE it, like your bud does. It's a labor of love for sure, but worth every ounce of energy spent on it. There's a Bro here who rides a rigid Shovel & it's always good to see him out there now & then. From what I understand, he's one helluva good wrench, too. I know him casually, but don't see him around very often. Loose as a goose & totally Old School, LMAO!

I live in a rual area & the street that i live on there are quite a few bikers, & it's quite common to see Harleys, Knuckles & trumpets roaring down the road. This is truely old school heaven for me.

There's a lot of modified newer bikes around here & probably more new factory choppers than the Old School variety.
Sounds like the Old School is rockin' in your area, which is very cool! Also increases the chance for the opportunity to hook up with some Old Schoolers so's you can help each other out during project builds. I know some guys with great wrenching experience who utilize the Internet, but I also know a couple that are INCREDIBLE gearheads that won't even go near a computer...too high tech.
