CMX 250 to CMX 450 conversion

Can anyone tell me if a CMX 250 engine can be swapped out and replaced with a CMX 450 engine? Will a CMX 250 frame handle a CMX 450 engine without major re-tooling?

you come out cheaper and have a safer ride if you just buy a 450.
