My 86 450 has the T/S on the handle bar. Will the 96 & up front lights mount onto the forks of my 86? I made a light bar with the intention of putting aftermarket lights on it but I am thinking of using the newer ones if they will fit my forks. I like the round lights better.
Thanks,
Snorey

Found out today that a stock 88-97 VT600,800,1100 round T/S lights will fit the stock stems of my 86 450  . I also found some fork mount stems for the VT's at www.recbikes.com. They are 37mm and I believe my forks are either 36mm or 37mm. So I may be installing these instead. The stems are $13.95 each (not bad).
Left Front P/N is 12-1222 and Right Front P/N is 12-1223. The Lights are K&S and are at the Honda dealer for $21.95 each. Part Numbers for the lights are:
Front Right - 25-1061
Front Left - 25-1062
Rear Left - 25-1063
Rear Right - 25-1064
Just thought I would put that out there for anyone that was interested in upgrading.

I've got a set of VLX 600 rear sigs that I took off my `88, But I still use the fronts. You might have luck finding a set on ebay though.

Thanx for sharing that info with the part #'s, Snorey. It's always good to know what fits what. I don't run T/S's, but this is useful info for those that do & might want to up-grade that way.
Another thing to keep in mind is comparison shopping. When looking to buy a particular item, I usually check www.jcwhitney.com first to see if they stock it. If they do, it's usually (not always) cheaper than most other places. Granted, JC Whitney doesn't stock everything under the sun, but they seem to be getting better with the more popular models, especially with accessory items like T/S & such. Always worth checking it out...

The update to my T/S situation.
My front fork stems came in on Saturday.....I was thinking that they were the hard ABS plastic but they were made of rubber. They were a tad big (not too much of a problem). They also were too flexible :( ....after some more research I think they need to have an outer stem cover like the ones on the 95-up Shadow's. This will allow them to be stiff while riding. Don't know yet if I am going to use them....gotta think of other solutions first (squeek! ). The only problem is that they are approx. $30 a piece and with christmas so close don't think I can talk my financial advisor into it right now. :(
May make a light bar that will use the original handle bar mounts. Not sure how that will look yet. I will probably work on that this week or this weekend.

"The only problem is that they are approx. $30 a piece and with christmas so close don't think I can talk my financial advisor into it right now."....LMAO! You've got one of those, too ? Will be springing for the air filters when they arrive, but after that, I've got to chill on spending until after the New Year as well.
Hmmm.....any chance that your financial advisor might consider putting these items on the gift list for ya ? hehehe........just a thought, LOL!
