Well, I just registered for this forum, the other one seemed a bit crowded, and honestly a bit tense sometimes....
Anyway, I'm looking for anyone who knows how I can get a custom seat for my Rebel. I'm looking for something more comfortable. I have an 85', and I just don't know how long of a trip I could take with the current stock seat. The longest I've ridden so far is about an hour, and it was not as comfortable as I would have hoped for. So if anybody has any suggestions, I would be much obliged to hear them! Thanks!

Hi Rebelrocket...

Welcome aboard... seems really slow here at the moment, but unfortunately it's only a matter of time before things on the "other" forum heat up again (seems to cycle regularly) and I'm sure every time that happens business will pick up round here.

There's another Rebel forum on Delphi, see link below for a discussion about a seat that good ol' Jack is working on.

Also, Old Road Dog did some work modifying his seat for comfort and seems to be quite happy about the results.... link follows.

Ooops... just checked above link, doesn't work... I'll leave it here though as it may be just temporary.

Cheers,
Wade

Hey Wade-
Many thnks on the links. Yeah, this forum seems to be going a bit slow so far, but I'm sure it will pick up. I'll let you know how my seat project goes, as I hope to start it in the near future. I'll have pics up soon hopefully!

RR, Not necessarily anything wrong with overcrowded, but you're right about the "tense" part. That's why it's "past-tense" for me now, LOL!

I'm confident that CTC will keep this site free from the unpleasantries that plague many other sites & I hope that the new members here will feel at ease to post whenever they choose.

The uncomfortable seat on the 250cc Rebel is a common complaint. Noticed that my lower back would start acting up before too long & had the padding on the rider's seat lowered to 1" thick in the hopes of lessening that discomfort by trying to get more of a natural slope/contour. THEN I found out thru reading ORD's posting that there's a metal plate under the foam near the back of the seat that might be causing that discomfort & he removed it. Wish I'd known about that earlier as I'd have had the re-upholsterers remove it while they were doing the job. Good luck & please keep us posted.
