86 Honda Rebel 450 - horn suddenly doesn't work

Can anyone suggest a series of diagnostics/troubleshooting for a horn that suddenly doesn't work? I've replaced the actual horn, but my guess is that the switch has either broken OR something in the wiring.

you could try pulling off the control and checking the contections to the back of the switch. If everything seems to be ok, check the wiring with a test meter, it could be that one of the wires has become worn and broken somewhere between the control and the horn.
