I just picked up a 2007 Rebel that the previous owner tried to learn to ride on. After having it fall over on her she gave up after 5.5 miles. It had apparently fallen on the right side causing minimal damage but the fall did cause some impact on the right battery cover. I tried to start it and the electrical was dead. I push started it and it ran OK except I had to use a little bit of choke to keep it from stalling, even after letting it warm up (it was a 108 degrees here today). I figured a new battery and a carb cleaning were in order. Well, as far as the electrical, I was wrong. I threw the battery on a charger and it was already holding a full charge. I then checked the fuses and all was good. Once I push start it I have lights and turn signals. Once the engine is off - nothing, not even the sound of a relay. Any gudance would be appreciated or its off to the mechanic I go.
