Hi everyone,
Just when I was getting ready to sell the bike (450 rebel, 26K), the clutch cable went! Luckily I was slowing to a stop and was only 5 blocks from my house.
I ordered a new cable and can pick it up tomorrow. The guy at the shop said it may be something I can do myself (he wanted to save me a $75 tow if possible!).
I am not near the bike now (I'm at work). I looked at it when I left though and the cable is still attached to the clutch handle thing, so it must have come off somewhere else.
My question is: Is rethreading a cable through the housing difficult on a 450. I have the manual, but not the cylmer manual. I have done very little wrenching on my own. I'm just wondering how big a deal I am getting into. I don't mind the tow fee if I need to, but it would be great not to have to spend that $75.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all,
K

Its pretty simple, just look at how the stock one mounts up and get an idea of what it needs to look like when you are done.

Feed the cable along the same path as the stock cable, overall its probably a 45 minute to 1 hours job.
