Question regarding mileage

Hello All,
I'm a completely new rider. I'm looking a honda rebels because they fit exactly what im looking for in terms of need, want, and economy. I'm looking at several used rebels but i have no idea what a decent number of miles is. I've seen rebels with 3000 miles and rebels with 14,000 miles on them. Where is a good range for motorcycles?

As long as the bike has been well kept you should not have to worry about the miles. These bikes are bulletproof it seems. And if kept in good condition should last forever. Hope you find the one you want for the price you want. Post pics when you get one.

What are the differences between parallel engines and vertical engines? are there advantages of one over the other? Which would you buy?
