Front wheel hub

Hello, Does anyone out there in Rebelland know if the early (85-86ish) and later (2001-2008ish) front wheel hubs are different. I know they mount the discs on different sides. Is it just reversed on instal or?? I want to relace (not replace) a front wheel and don't want to buy a hub that won't work on E Bay. (the Honda parts sheet shows a front hub available for the early models and a wheel assembly for the later models.)
