I was looking around and found another rebel forum...couldn't register and log in for some reason?? But someone there had posted pictures and a tutorial on how to modify the seat on a 250 Rebel....takes the hump out and lets you sit a bit farther back......anyone know anything about this?

Supposedly there is a metal plate in the seat that you can remove. My '08 did not have one. I added 1" of high density foam padding between the plastic seat pan and the stock cushion. It made the seat much more comfortable but I still couldn't sit any farther back without sitting on the rear fender. A Harley 1200 Custom Sportster solved that issue!;)

LOL........I have a 2006 883 Sportster as well, but like the 250 for zipping around the neighborhood. Like the sportster but need to change the handlebars on it, too far forward for me.............geez, never happy ;)

If I remember correctly it is pretty easy to do. Take the seat off and remove the vinyl. You can feel the plate inside the foam. Take a sharp knife and slice the foam. Remove plate and reinstall the vinyl. I did that a year or so ago and it really didnt take that long.
