Here's a pic of my battery box cover made at work. It's .040 mirror finish stainless. We have a punch that formed the louvers. http://http://www.hondarebelforum.com/imagehosting/41747781409a0df2.bmp ('http://www.hondarebelforum.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=132')

EDIT: Topic says Batter Box... Should've been "Battery" Oops.

Excellent point, sox.........Those mirror finish, louvered battery covers look primo! It might be a good source of some extra ca$h ;)

Easy way to figure out if it'd be cost effective would be to price the stock replacement as compared to what it'd cost you in time & material.....if the numbers jive in your favor....you could start out with a few & see if the demand is there......

Thanks yall, I really appreciate that. I just made that out of some "drop material", I don't know exacty what a sheet would cost. And, too, I've got so many projects going on right now for myself and friends, I'm staying pretty busy.

EDIT; I don't want to mislead anybody here, I just realized you may think this is the whole battery box. It's just a "cover" over the front of the door. In the description, maybe I should have put the word "cover" in parenthasis. I'm using the same box, it just had rust on the door that I couldn't get off.
Just makin' sure we're on the same page.... hehe Thanks again.

Understood on it being the cover only, but it doesn't take away from anything, LOL!

Also understand about those million irons in the fire......;)

Hey Chopper Rick, Sorry it took so long to get back in here, didn't realize I'd been gone so long. Yeah, I've been trying to come up with a gas tank design but so far, it hasn't got past the card board stage. The easiest to come up with looks too much like a coffin, hehe So for now I'll just keep the original.
I have got plans for a sissybar. I can get it cut out on a "waterjet" and make it with either stainless or 3/8 T6 aluminum. Here's a pic of it on a smaller scale and I realize I'll have to alter the bottom to bolt it on.

In fact I have 2 in mind. The other one looks like a grave marker for a Confederate soldier. I don't have a pic of it uploaded yet, but it is a Maltese Cross with a Confederate Flag and CSA on it. I gotta make it to where it will be "quick change". Like everything else, it just takes time. Thanks for asking though.

I realize this post has been around for awhile, but if you decide to make these Id possibly be interested in one.... if the price were right. Haven't found a decent stock one for sale yet.

Otherwise im going to have to find someone to rechrome mine or ill just have it powder coated black to match the frame.
