I had the other stock 450 frame I have raked out to 43 degrees and the person who did it (Briz...check out his other work at http://www.customcycledevelopments.com), extended the frame by 1" after I mentioned to him about the 450 cockpit issues (the handle bars and idiot lights banging into the gas tank.) I didn't ask him to extend it, he did it on his own and this means I won't have to redo the whole dash area now!
The frame should sit flatter now and kick the front end out a bit more.

He did a stupendous job. The welds are like a work of art!
(sorry about the pic quality)

Just waiting to get the rear fender back from getting the holes welded over (from brake lights and side reflectors that are no longer used) and then off to the powder coaters before swapping all the bits over from one frame to the other. Going for a whole new colour!

No worries on the pics, the quality of Briz's welding is there & it's VERY good! Comparable to one of the best welders in this area & described as "stitch-work". Excellent job!

You'll be jazzed when doing the swap-over & we look forward to the new incarnation of your chop, sox ;) If memory serves, you're running 8"-10" over stock fork tubes, which should be primo on the new frame. Not sure what the stock rake for the 450 Reb is, but on the old stock Triumphs it's 28 degrees. Many would kick 'em out to 40*-50*, with 50* being pretty dang radical & running 12"-14" over stock front-ends.

The new stance & look of your Reb should be sweet as can be! Right on!

I think the stock rake is 23 degrees and the rake on my present frame is 34 degrees. Kickin' it out to 43 will definitely make it meaner...lol

The forks on it now are 6" over but with the new rake at least I've got the option to go longer :)

"The forks on it now are 6" over but with the new rake at least I've got the option to go longer"..........Understood. Am wondering if you might have no choice "but" to go longer. For example, if your Reb's stance is level at 34* w/6" over tubes, wouldn't the kick-out to 43* require longer tubes to retain the proper stance ?

Somewhere in my notes, I've got a rough rule-of-thumb calculation for when changing rake angle as to what the new recommended fork length would be (finding that calculation sheet is another story, LOL!) Maybe a search engine would pull up one ?

There's the technical computations such as wheelbase, tire sizes front & rear, rake, trail, etc........that all figure into the end result recommendations for the fork length after altering the rake angle.....but if I'm remembering correctly, the sheet I've got somewhere's was more basic but workable. It was something as basic as:

"Here's the current rake"
"Current fork length is ___"
"Here's the new rake"
"Recommended fork length is now ___"

No, the whole problem is that it's NOT level....:(
That's why I went for the bigger rake in the first place...

ah......O.K.......now I'm followin' ya (and I should have re-read your 1st post again, LOL!)

So you've already done the needed calculations to set the stance to rights. Excellent! Definitely looking forward to the new, improved styling....
