Over here in the UK we had a Honda model called the 400N Superdream (also a 250N which was a dual carb motor which looks identical to my Rebel)

You can guess where I am going here.......anyone know if the 400N engine would fit in my 250 frame?

This is interesting....met a guy sometime last year & he insisted that he'd seen a 400cc Rebel. Didn't argue with him, but told him that I'd never heard of one. He musta seen one that got imported from overseas.....

Regarding your question.....the 250 Rebel frame is more than likely too frail to accommodate the extra weight, plus there'd probably be motor mounting issues as well....

Edit: Hmmmm....maybe I've got that wrong. You were thinking of "creating" a 400 Reb ? ;) Do you know what the "N" designates ?

This is the Honda Superdream, came in 250 and 400 and you could swap the engines over easily.

Years ago in the UK we had a 250 limit for learners, and a popular mod was a 250 superdream with a 400 engine in it. Is there any difference between the frames for a 250 and 450 Rebel?

Thanx for sharing that pic.....pretty sweet looking bike.....It's interesting how some models are offerred in one country yet not another. I remember the Honda 305 Dream (was "Super" in there ? I dunno, LOL!) here in the States years ago. And a couple years ago, we saw some pics of the Honda Shadow sold in Japan only, which had a VERY sweet springer front-end on 'em.

So with the Superdream, were the 250 & 400 motors a direct swap-out ? The 250 frame must have been more substantial is my guess.

The 250 vs. 450 Rebel frames......essentially, the 450 frame is an up-sized & stouter version with a few subtle design differences. On the 250, there's barely enough clearance for the stock motor & the 250 frame is pretty frail by comparison, so I'd be less inclined to try to put a 450 mill in a 250 Rebel frame. What I'm guessing here is that the 250 Superdream frame was/is probably a sturdier frame than the modern 250 Rebel frame......

Sweet looking bike! Love the colors! Don't see too many chromed up front fenders on the Rebels! I'd be putting a sissy bar and some bags on it if it were mine. :D
