Okay....maybe this post fits best in the cool mods section but i'll post it here anyway. Dont know if the moderators are able to move it, but if they want to I can re-post i there..

I wanted a custom mirror on my bike...but i wanted something spesial, not just the normal billet custom mirror. After reading a british classic bike magazine i got the idea to place the mirror under the handlebars. The fact that bolt on parts for the rebel are minimal, forced me to make it from scratch....and living in Norway does not make it any easier, frieght prices are way to expencive (atleast i think so) and the budget is small...

the mirror is not finished yet, but I'll update as soon as i get more pics...

First i made a template form the cat-eye lens, and cut out two pieces of wood with the same pattern...the steel plate was cut slightly oversiced, and held between the two pieces of wood in a vise. Then i simply took a hammer and bent down the edges of the steel plate arround the wood.To mount it to the arm I welded on a nut and smoth'd it out.The bolt on the top is a bolt from the stock mirror, as soon as i get the chance i'm making a new one in a lathe to give it a cleaner look. The arm holding it is a leftover from another bike.

EXCELLENT! You've really got a good eye for design, Are! This mod fits the lines of bike & looks very cool. I LOVE it when a builder knows what they want to accomplish, then uses whatever they have to make it actually work. It's the one-off pieces such as this that really personalize one's ride. Very well done!
