Hello, I am trying to put some saddlebags on my moms 2003 Honda Rebel and purchased some guards off from ebay. I was wondering if anyone had seen these style guards before? Not sure if I got ripped off because the width between the guards would tell me they mount on the turn signal bolt and then 2 bolts down, which does not seem right and when I unboled the turn signal it would not even fit there due to the turn signal having another spacer next to it for the wiring to go through. In the ebay auction, the person supposedly had them on a 2002 rebel which should be the same. Anyone seen or had experience with these ones before? They were used so I do not know the manufacturer.

Welcome, lightning803........Turn signals often get in the way when trying to mount saddlebag brackets. I don't run turn signals, had removed 'em from the bike entirely & used the vacant holes for mounting homemade brackets.
If you look at the diagram below, am wondering if this would work........The "stay" (or turn signal stalk) Part #9, bolts thru the fender with the nut, Part#16, being inside the fender well. If you were to disconnect the turn signal wiring, then you could remove the "stay". Could you then run the hole of the saddlebag bracket over the fixed mounting bolt of the stay, then re-install the stay & plug the turn signal wiring back in ? Essentially, the hole of the saddlebag bracket would be sandwiched between the inner end of the stay & the outside of the fender.
If this allows the saddlebag brackets to line up, then your only concern might be whether or not the bags you use can clear the turn signals themselves.........

My concern is the guard itself. There's nothing more than a flat tab where the horizontal stress will be in any kind of lean or load. I'd be afraid they'd bend with actual use.
